  • Basic EKG Training

  • Basic EKG Course Information, Dates and Registration Information

Basic EKG is designed to teach the basic skills of reading an EKG to individuals with no prior EKG knowledge.  Because our versatile EKG education is designed to meet the ever changing schedules of today's EMT's, students may choose to attend our standard classroom course or select to complete the training totally online. Please read the following two course options carefully before deciding whether to apply for the classroom course or the online course.

    Classroom EKG Course:

    Next classroom EKG Course: September 11, 13, 18, 20, 25 & 27, 2017. Class time, 5 to 9 p.m
    Application Deadline: August 7, 2017

  • Learners, who benefit the most with live instruction, will enjoy the opportunity to interact with other EMT's and the instructors in a formal classroom setting. The course consists of six 4-hour sessions and a final exam.

You will learn to recognize and understand normal and abnormal EKG patterns. This class will allow practice recognition and analysis of EKG strips as you gain understanding of common EKG rhythms and the management strategies of treating arrhythmias.

Both courses are open to any interested student, however, only individuals holding State of Colorado or National Registry EMT certification will qualify for approved continuing education credit. All other students will receive course completion certificates.

    Cost: $250

Additional Costs NOT Included in the Tuition:
    Book - $90

Both of the courses qualify for 32 hours of continuing education under the St. Anthony Hospital/PreHospital Services, State of Colorado Training Group approval. In addition to serving as continuing education, this course provides the necessary skills and foundation needed for entrance into most paramedic programs. 80% GPA is required for passing.

    Cancellation Policy:

If you cancel your registration five (5) business days prior to the first day of class, your tuition will be refunded less a $50.00 enrollment processing charge. Refunds requested after the beginning of class will be pro-rated based on hours attended.

This Institute does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, ancestry, marital status, sex, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability or veteran’s status. We reserve the right to cancel/alter courses

  • Online Basic and Advanced EKG Courses:

The self-paced online courses are offered in conjunction with Lifeline Health & Safety Educators. These courses allows lecture material to be viewed anytime, anywhere, on most computers and mobile web devices. Integrated online testing modules and workbook exercises complete the learning experience. In some cases, an on-site final examination may be required. Students will be allowed up to 6 weeks to complete the program.
